Job Title: Day-of Wedding Assistant
Job Type: Casual, Seasonal (June – December 2026)

Job Description:

J. Marie Weddings is a full-service wedding planning and coordination boutique. We are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable person to join our team for the 2026 wedding season. This position is seasonal, with casual hours that are paid per event.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Lead Wedding Coordinators or Planners with the execution of several weddings throughout the season.

• Set up small décor items such as guestbook, menus, and seating plan.

• Welcome and assist vendors at the wedding ceremony, including the justice of the peace, musicians, and readers etc..

• Assist a Lead Wedding Coordinator or Planner with the wedding processional and the grand entrance into the dinner.

• Direct and assist guests during the changeover between events and at the beginning of the dinner.

 

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in on-site coordination and execution of weddings or events

• Reliable

• Detail-oriented

• Exceptional customer service skills

• Can-do attitude with a strong ability to think on your feet

*WPICC Certified or education in event management is considered an asset but is not required as there will be training opportunities available for you.

Other important details:

• You must be available for specific dates (select Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays) with some week-day evening availability for 1 hour wedding rehearsals.

• Have your own reliable transportation

Compensation:

• $20/hr.

• Travel costs will be reimbursed.

​

Schedule:

• 5 - 10 weddings at various venues across Cape Breton Island

• Select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between June – December 2026

• On the day of the wedding, you'll work 4-6 hour shifts depending on the location of the wedding
